The children asked for a cookery book of all their favourites and then failed to read the 20 page document I sent them, so each day I will post their dinner and it's instructions plus a selection of their favourite bits and bobs. The idea being that rather than keep phoning me up to ask how long carrots take to boil, they can look it up, add their own bits and continue to evolve into self sufficient foodies on a budget.

The concept was brilliant. The reality was different, they can all cook. They phone me up because they want to. Recipes are the distraction.
I have filled my time with other things. The allotment fills the time the kids consumed. I upped my hours to about sixty a week at work, never a good idea.. I spent three years driving myself into the ground. So now, back to tutoring and part time jobs, most importantly back to having a life worth living. Volunteering and being creative are always going to be things that give me a purpose and immense personal satisfaction, so lets do it.
